Earlier this month, I was in Innsbruck to present my research on the sustainability of large running events at the EASM Conference, to immerse myself in other research, and to interact with many exciting people from around the world. Even though the days were pretty intense, day after day I took the chance to explore the beautiful city while running.
If you ever find yourself in Innsbruck, do a sightseeing run. It's worth it! Ten corners, streets, squares and parks that you should not leave out are the following:
- Triumphpforte
- Maria-Theresien-Straße (with city hall, Annas&aunl;ule and Spitalskirche)
- Goldenes Dachl
- Court Church and Court Castle
- Court Garden (with music pavilion)
- Innbrücke (with colorful houses)
- Bergisel ski jump
- Olympia World
- Tivoli-Stadium
- Schloss Ambras
If the whole round is too long for you, it is best to skip Ambras Castle. The first six stations in particular can be completed in just a few kilometers. Give it a try!
